Re: Beijing began Anti-H7N9 emergency procedures after saying no yesterday due to no cases in Beijing

Odds on the virus has been detected in doves/ pidgeons/ chickens/ quail even if no human cases.

That said, I personally think that the human cases reported are the tip of the iceberg of known / detected cases and that we do not have full public transparency.

I do however think that China will be speaking more honestly to the WHO, even if the full case load is not being made public.

Bearing this point in mind vs. the official position about h2h transmission at the moment, I find the change in WHO wording to 'no evidence of sustained human transmission' very telling. i.e I think there must be known cases of H2H just not publically acknowledged, and that for now, such transmission is not sustained nor fully efficient.

It can't be easy or cheap to activate that kind of emergency plan, so something must have happened.
