As of Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, 89.6% (4,467,392) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 83.6% (4,167,276) have received their second dose.
In addition, 92.6% (4,291,424) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 89.9% (4,166,375) received their second dose and 41.3% (1,912,122) have received a third dose.
Also, 92.9% (4,019,925) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.4% (3,907,880) received their second dose and 44.2% (1,910,574) have received a third dose.
B.C. is reporting 1,446 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 314,522 cases in the province.
Note: The numbers of total and new cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh and will be verified once confirmed.
There are 32,468 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 277,285 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 985 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 144 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

B.C. reports 28 more people in hospital with COVID-19, 5 more in the ICU and 13 more deaths

B.C. health officials reported 977 people hospital with COVID-19 on Thursday, including 141 in intensive care, as the province recorded 13 more deaths from the disease and 2,033 new cases.

The new numbers represent an increase of 28 COVID-19 patients hospitalized within the last 24 hours, including five more patients in the ICU.

Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 9.7 per cent from last Thursday, when 891 people were in hospital with the disease.

Due to a data reporting change introduced Jan. 14, month-to-month hospitalization comparisons won't be available again until Feb. 14.

The number of patients in intensive care is up by about 18.5 per cent from 119 a week ago and up by 114 per cent from a month ago when 66 people were in the ICU.

Experts say hospitalizations are a more accurate barometer of the disease's impact, as new case numbers in B.C. are likely much higher than reported, now that the province has hit its testing limit because of the Omicron surge.

As of Thursday, 22.1 per cent of COVID-19 tests in B.C. are coming back positive, according to the province's COVID-19 dashboard.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has said that anything above a five per cent test-positivity rate indicates a concerning level of community transmission.

There are currently 29,556 recorded active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

In addition, 92.7% (4,295,487) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.0% (4,171,222) received their second dose and 43.9% (2,033,321) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.0% (4,023,652) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.5% (3,912,317) have received their second dose and 47.0% (2,031,592) have received a third dose.

B.C. is reporting 2,137 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 321,043 cases in the province.

There are 30,515 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 286,134 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 990 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 141 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

B.C. reports 18 deaths in 24 hours from COVID-19 but 47 fewer people in hospital

B.C. health officials reported 988 people in hospital with COVID-19 on Wednesday, including 136 in intensive care, as the province recorded 18 more deaths from the disease and 1,776 new cases.

The new numbers represent a decrease of 47 COVID-19 patients hospitalized within the last 24 hours, including three fewer patients in the ICU.

Overall hospitalizations, which typically lag behind spikes and dips in new cases, are up by 4.1 per cent from last Wednesday, when 949 people were in hospital with the disease.

Due to a data reporting change introduced Jan. 14, month-to-month hospitalization comparisons won't be available again until Feb. 14.

The number of patients in intensive care is the same as a week ago and up by 86.3 per cent from a month ago when 73 people were in the ICU...

...There are currently 25,959 recorded active cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in B.C.

The provincial death toll from COVID-19 is now 2,643 lives lost out of 327,625 confirmed cases to date...

As of Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, 90.0% (4,485,371) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 84.2% (4,195,459) have received their second dose.

In addition, 92.8% (4,301,301) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.1% (4,178,226) received their second dose, and 47.6% (2,204,107) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.1% (4,028,907) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.6% (3,918,623) received their second dose, and 50.9% (2,201,995) have received a third dose.

B.C. is reporting 1,518 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 329,143 cases in the province.

There are 25,554 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 299,657 people who tested positive have recovered. Of the active cases, 985 COVID-positive individuals are in hospital and 145 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.

COVID-19: B.C. reports 19 deaths, cases in hospital drop for fifth straight day

British Columbia marked another 19 deaths related to COVID-19 Friday, as the number of cases in hospital dropped for the fifth straight day.

B.C. health officials reported 946 people with COVID-19 in hospital, an overnight drop of 39, including 139 cases in critical or intensive care...

...Officials also confirmed 1,799 new cases and 25,479 active cases, though they are thought to be significant undercounts given current restrictions on testing in the province.

Earlier Friday, the independent B.C. COVID-19 Modelling Group released its latest report highlighting what it said were “substantial gaps in data” about the virus.

“All data streams publicly available in BC to monitor the Omicron pandemic are unreliable, as a result of changing data standards and missing or inaccessible data,” the report said.

The group said limited testing and changing eligibility, limited reporting of hospital data, and a lack of wastewater testing outside of the Lower Mainland had rendered modelling of the fifth wave extremely difficult.

“Accurate, timely and consistent data is needed to understand the progress of the pandemic and the impacts of public health measures,” the report says...

If the powers that be have decided that we are "living with this" than we need to significantly increase both hospital beds and hospital staff. This is going to require increased numbers of nurses, RTs, and docs trained.
