Diarrhea has taken a serious turn at a village in northwestern Bangladesh where a man died and 90 people were attacked by the disease during the last 24 hours, local news agency UNB reported Tuesday.

Haqdal Borman (35) died on Tuesday. The disease has afflicted some 90 people of 60 poor families of Kashurbari village in northwestern Thakurgaon district. On Tuesday 40 of them were admitted to hospital.

People in adjoining villages are scared at the fast spreading of the disease.
Confirming the alarming situation, Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdul Momen said medical teams have been sent to Kashurbari and adjoining villages where diarrhea is spreading fast to combat the disease.

He said the villagers are falling ill after taking poor and unwholesome food.
