Matala – A strange disease characterised by burn-like spots on the skin is worrying residents of Bamba locality, in Micosse, some 36 kilometres of Matala, east of Southern Huila province, Angop learned here.


Speaking to Angop Wednesday, Bamba administration official, Laurinda Fernanda, said the disease has so far affected seven people since it broke out a week ago.


The official who described the symptoms of the disease as burn-like spots and blisters on the skin, said the provincial health authorities have already be notified.


She said the disease has not claimed any lives so far, but expressed concern saying the local community is worried with the rapid way it spreads.
