Measures to Fight Against ?Bird Flu? to be Discussed in Barda

The State Veterinary Service of the Agriculture Ministry of Azerbaijan will hold a zonal meeting in the Barda district on 6 March, Veterinary Service reports.
Presided by the Head of the Veterinary Service, the meeting will bring together the veterinarians of the district and nearby territories. The meeting will focus on the results of work in 2006 and measures for 2007. Special attention will be paid regarding preventive measures to be taken within the fight against ?bird flu? in the territory of Azerbaijan.
The Veterinary Service states that presently the regional veterinary departments have been supplied with necessary disinfectants and special dressings in its fight against ?bird flu?. The inhabitants are recommended to keep domestic birds in closed premises and away from contact with wild birds. The ban on hunting and consumption of wild birds remains in force
