Azerbaijan has confirmed 57 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on 6 April.

“57 new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections have been registered in Azerbaijan, and these people have been admitted to the special treatment hospital”, the report said...

Azerbaijan, Georgia suspend customs checkpoints on border

In line with the new temporary rules applied by Azerbaijan, all checkpoints on the Georgian customs border (Red Bridge, Lagodekhi, Samtatskaro and Mtkvari) will be closed for individuals for two weeks as of April 7, Georgian media reported citing the Georgian Department of Revenue.

This applies to Georgian citizens and foreigners, as well as passenger cars.

As well as it is mentioned that the movement of vehicles (including transit vehicles and rail freight) from all customs checkpoints on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border continues 24 hours a day in accordance with a protocol developed as part of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 infection...

Azerbaijan may extend quarantine regime amid increasing number of infected COVID-19

Azerbaijan may extend special quarantine regime and tighten it in case of further spread of coronavirus, Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers Ibrahim Mammadov told at the briefing held by the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers in Baku on April 8.

He noted that over past day 105 more coronavirus cases were defected in Azerbaijan while 19 people have recovered from this infection...

Azerbaijan has confirmed 67 more coronavirus cases, while one patient has died, Report informs citing the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the Headquarters, 41 people have recovered. The anamnesis of a person, who was born in 1935 and tested positive for COVID-19, included cardiac arrhythmia, ischemic heart disease, and postinfarction cardiosclerosis. Despite the efforts of doctors, the person died.

Up until now, 1,058 people have been infected with coronavirus in Azerbaijan. Two hundred of them recovered, 11 died. 847 people are being treated in special hospitals. The condition of 27 people out of those 847 people is severe, the condition of 35 people is assessed as moderate, and the rest feel normal.

2,840 people in different quarantine zones are being treated in the country.

Currently, 1480 people with active phase of coronavirus are in special hospitals under the supervision of doctors in the country. The condition of fourteen of them is severe, the condition of twenty patients is evaluated as moderately severe, and the health condition of others is stable. 865 patients were discharged from the hospitals and 20 died. The necessary measures are underway for the medical treatment of the patients.
