Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore are beginning a clinical trial this month to test the first cell culture-based avian influenza vaccine to see whether it will provide immunity faster and more reliably than a vaccine produced in eggs.
The Center for Vaccine Development at the medical school is seeking healthy volunteers ages 18 to 40 years old to participate. The trial is funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health. People interested in volunteering should call 410-706-6156.

Re: AVIAN FLU VACCINE: University starting trial

The second looks more likely.

Does anyone know the timeline from these test to production?

Perhaps, since it's the first cell culture-based avian influenza vaccine, the question should be about a timeline to approval.

Re: AVIAN FLU VACCINE: University starting trial

doesn't Baxter already produce cell-based vaccine in Czech or Austria ?
