WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 -- The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service - Region 1 has one cooperative agreement opportunity for surveillance of avian influenza morbidity and mortality in American Samoa.

The estimated total program funding available was cited as $5,000, although no specific amount for this award was indicated by the agency.

This funding opportunity is open to state governments.

A funding opportunity notice from U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service states: "Collection and sampling of dead, injured, weak birds for a 12-month period. Recoveries will be from the islands of Manu'a and Aunu'u, American Samoa."

The funding opportunity number is FWSPIO22. It was posted on July 28 with an application closing dated of Aug. 4.
