Beef Central, 19/04/2024

BIOSECURITY for livestock businesses has always been and is even more so top of mind for all livestock owners and managers.

Join us on Tuesday, 23 April from 12.30pm AEST for an update on the new Northern Australia Coordination Network, Australia’s priority emergency animal diseases and biosecurity property planning.

Industry preparedness should be at the forefront for all stakeholders given the risks. In recognition of this, a new $4.33 million biosecurity boost for northern Australia has recently been announced – the Northern Australia Coordination Network (NACN).

Presenter Dr Ben Rhodes is a veterinarian with Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and acts as the Queensland Northern Australia Coordination Network coordinator.

The webinar is the latest in the popular Beef Connect series, a collaboration between FutureBeef and Beef Central.

During the webinar, Ben will discuss:
  • What are Australia’s priority EADs? – How to detect and report them.
  • The importance of biosecurity property planning.
  • The Northern Australia Coordination Network – its purpose and activities to increase northern Australia’s capacity and capability for EAD preparedness.
When: Tuesday, 23 April from 12.30pm AEST

Registration: Register here to join the webinar to increase or refresh your knowledge in these areas and learn about the NACN project.
