An aquatic medical expert says he will be determining if noise is a cause of a diseased fish outbreak in Gladstone Harbour in central Queensland.

Conservationists say noise could be damaging the health of marine life around Gladstone.

They say there is also concern about the impact of coal shipping on whales that breed and rear calves off the region's coast....
