An Alice Springs school says it may cancel a theatre production planned for tomorrow night, pending the results of a swine flu test for one its students.

The deputy principal of St Phillips College, Chris Leesong, says a student developed flu-like symptoms on Friday after flying back from Melbourne the previous day.

He says the girl is being tested for swine flu and the drama students and teachers most likely to have been exposed to her are also under quarantine at home.

"We don't actually receive the test results until after lunch tomorrow.

"We've only just found out that it will be that late before those results will be in, so we've got to make a decision I suppose as to whether tomorrow's production, if the test was negative, whether tomorrow's production goes ahead or not."

There are now over 400 cases of swine flu confirmed in Australia, including one in the Northern Territory.

Swine flu suspects given all clear

The Northern Territory's health department has cleared two suspected cases of swine flu in Alice Springs.
A girl from St Phillips College had been under quarantine after developing flu-like symptoms shortly after returning from Melbourne.
Fifteen people she had contact with have been under quarantine, while a student at another school was also tested for swine flu.
A spokesman for the department says both cases have returned negative results.
