Audio interview - Trump states deaths in California, the State of Washington and one in New York

CATO Institute (March 4, 2020 3:05PM) [h=1]COVID-19 Deaths and Incredible WHO Estimates[/h] By Alan Reynolds
... The true death rate could turn out to be similar to that of a severe seasonal flu, below 1 percent, according to an editorial published in the journal by Dr. Anthony S. Fauci and Dr. H. Clifford Lane, of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and Dr. Robert R. Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention...Yet the rigorous February 10 study I cited, from Imperial College London, concluded the global infection fatality ratio was about 1.0. My estimate is lower than 1.0 because I exclude China where (I argue) high fatality rates in Wuhan were exaggerated by overcounting institutionalized elderly with serious infection....

"exaggerated by overcounting institutionalized elderly with serious infection." I'm not sure the people involved would think they were "overcounted".

I don't think that Trump or the federal government is discounting the suffering of the elderly and those who love them. They are investigating Life Care now. A DMAT team has been sent to help and Medicare will investigate. I think the feds have realized that they need to focus more on the at risk groups.
Twitter has good information such but also toxic politics and rumors. I saw a troll trying to incite fear about pets. Many people tried to get that tweet removed but Twitter has been totally irresponsible. They all call themselves "journalists".

Trump could have quoted Dr McCarthy (.2 to .4 based on Korea data):

How do these estimated CFRs of under 1% square with the Italian experience to date, 351 serious and 148 dead, 3.8% CFR on 3858 confirmed cases as of March 5th?
