THREE cases of meningococcal disease have been reported on the North Coast.

Although the situation was labelled ?unusual? for a cluster of cases to be diagnosed, North Coast Area Health Service director of public health Paul Corben would not reveal which towns were affected.

?It is an interest of people?s privacy to not reveal that,? he said.

?The most important message is to be aware and to act quickly if anyone suddenly becomes sick.?

The three people infected with the potentially lethal disease include a pre-school child, a teenager and an interstate resident visiting the area.

?These cases are not linked so it?s not an outbreak,? Mr Corben said...
