Chickenpox cases in recent rise

WHOOPING cough is on the decline as more parents elect to immunise their children.

But watch out if a loved one comes home with a slight fever, followed by a couple of spots.

The Sunshine Coast has experienced a slight spike in the number of people affected with chickenpox in the past four weeks.

There have been 39 laboratory confirmed cases.

This is slightly fewer than the 44 cases diagnosed in the previous four weeks, but slightly higher than the same period last year...
