The May 18 decision to reopen public transport in Armenia was accompanied by a sharp rise in the number of infections, with 351 new cases.
Public transport was shut down two months ago when the state of emergency was declared. It will be in effect until June 13, but public transport began running again so that people could get to work.

As of May 18, Armenia has reported a total of 4,823 coronavirus cases. In a 24-hour period, 94 people recovered and one died. In total, there have been 61 coronavirus deaths in the country, 2718 are being treated, and 2019 have recovered. A total of 41,850 people have been tested.

According to official statistics, Armenia as of May 19 had 5,041 coronavirus infections and sixty-four deaths, followed by Azerbaijan, with 3,387 cases and forty deaths. Georgia appears to be doing far better than its two Caucasus neighbors, with 702 cases and only twelve deaths.
Armenia ‘has just 26 intensive care beds left for COVID-19 patients'
Armenia appears to be in danger of running out of intensive care beds for coronavirus (COVID-19) patients. Only 26 such beds of the 186 in the country are free, Armenian health minister Arsen Torosyan was reported as saying by Public Radio of Armenia on May 24.
Armenia ended its virus lockdown around three weeks ago, but it has since experienced a renewed surge in infections, with May 25 bringing the highest single-day growth in the number of cases, at 452, yet experienced. The country is impoverished and government officials have frankly stated that prolonging the lockdown without causing irreparable damage to the economy was not something they saw as achievable.

As of the end of May 25, Armenia had logged 7,113 coronavirus cases and 87 associated deaths (up six on the day). A total of 3,145 of the cases had the “recovered” status.

YEREVAN, May 28. /TASS/. Coronavirus cases in Armenia grew by 442 in the past twenty-four hours to 8,216, the republic’s Health Ministry reported on Thursday.
Armenia has reported 547 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 12,364.
The results of 966 tests have been negative.
According to the data of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 207 patients have recovered, bringing the total to 3,720.
Seven patients have died in the past 24 hours. The death toll has reached 190 another 69 patients with coronavirus have died because of other diseases.
As of Saturday, 16,004 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Armenia with 6,081 recoveries and 264 deaths, the health ministry reported.
Thus, we have 723 new cases and 442 recoveries.
