A person with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Maricopa County died Friday, health officials said. It is the first reported death associated with coronavirus in Arizona.

The person who died was a man in his 50s who had underlying health conditions, county health officials said.

Health officials have confirmed the death of a second person in Arizona from the coronavirus.

The Arizona Department of Health Services and Maricopa County Department of Public Health say the man who died was in his 70s and had underlying health conditions.

TUCSON – There are now 42 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pima County, according to data from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

As of Tuesday morning, there are 326 reported cases in Arizona.

Five deaths in connection to the virus have also been reported...
 
Coconino County reports first COVID-19 death as Arizona total climbs to 6

PHOENIX — Coconino County health officials on Tuesday confirmed the county’s first death caused by the coronavirus.

The individual was a male in his 50s with underlying health conditions, Coconino County Health and Human Services said in a press release.

The death was the sixth in Arizona due to COVID-19

...Of the state’s 75 new cases, which pushed the outbreak total to 401, 52 were in Maricopa County.

The Arizona Department of Health Services has been providing daily case updates on its website each morning.

Maricopa County now has 251 cases, up from 199 the previous day. The county’s health department reported its first two cases in patients ages 17 and under.


Thirty-five Phoenix-area patients have been hospitalized, with 13 in the intensive care unit, and three have died.

Pima County released Saturday morning that its COVID-19 death toll has risen to five.
To protect the privacy of the deceased and his family, the Health Department only said the most recent person that passed away was a male hospice patient between the age of 18 and 40.
