This Friday, the Government announced that it will begin a quarantine stage with gradual openings in the country's districts where social, preventive and compulsory isolation prevailed. "Between July 18 and August 2 we will try to go back to normal life in stages," said President Alberto Fern?ndez from the Quinta de Olivos.
Through a series of charts, the Head of State provided an overview of the pandemic in Argentina. Among other points, he noted that the cumulative incidence rate is 253 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants and that with respect to the doubling time, that is, the time it takes for infections to multiply by two, the best level is being reached, reached last May 9. "The effort that we all made was not useless," he considered.
Regarding the number of intensive care beds occupied, Fern?ndez maintained that although there was an increase in this index in accordance with the increase in infections, the quarantine prevented a collapse in the health system. According to the indicated numbers, if they had not complied with the isolation, today 72% of the beds would be occupied.
At the press conference, the President was accompanied by Horacio Rodr?guez Larreta and Axel Kicillof. Behind them, it was possible to see the governors Jorge Capitanich (Chaco), Gerardo Morales (Jujuy) and Arabela Carreras (R?o Negro) being virtually connected.
At the time of taking the floor, the head of the Buenos Aires Government announced the implementation of a gradual plan for the reactivation of activities and maintained that "the way to get ahead is between everyone", so he called on the citizens to "be responsible and not to throw overboard the effort that was made ”.
Within this framework, Rodr?guez Larreta reported that a “gradual and comprehensive” opening scheme for the City of Buenos Aires will come into force tomorrow, which consists of six stages, and whose preparation responds to an evaluation of the health data of the pandemic in the district by “specialists from different areas”. From the governorship they later specified the details of how each of these stages will be.
In turn, Kicillof indicated that the province of Buenos Aires will go into an "intermittent quarantine" starting Monday. In this sense, he indicated that those companies and industries that had been authorized before the entry into force of the strict quarantine will begin to operate "under strict protocols and own means of transportation".
"Wednesday will be the turn of neighborhood businesses and only next Monday the professional activities that had already been allowed," confirmed the governor. Hours later, the activities that will be enabled during the next weeks in the Conurbano were detailed.
