Argentina confirms 690 cases and 17 deaths from COVID-19

BUENOS AIRES, March 27 (Xinhua) - Argentina today confirmed a total of 690 cases and 17 deaths from the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Health of the South American country reported on Friday night that in the last 24 hours 101 new cases of the disease were confirmed, and five deaths, deaths corresponding to four men, aged 59, 70, 73 and 81, and a woman 72 years old.
Of the 101 new cases, 43 were confirmed in the city of Buenos Aires and 36 in the province of Buenos Aires.
The report said that of the total confirmed cases, 56 percent are imported, 24.2 percent are close contacts of confirmed cases and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.
With the update released on Friday night, Argentina presents 690 cases of patients with the disease, of which 74 recovered and 17 died.
