BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Argentine Health Ministry announced Monday that the number of deaths in the country for the A/H1N1 influenza increased from 465 to 512 over the last 10 days, with the number of confirmed cases standing at 8,384.

Among the deaths, the adults between 50 and 59-year-old represented the most affected group, said the ministry in a report.

"There are no differences according to gender, but there is a difference between the rates for age groups," the Ministry said.

So far, only four out of the total 24 provinces in the country -- Formosa, La Rioja and Catarmaca in the north, and Tierra del Fuego in the south -- have not reported deaths of the flu.

Since Argentina reported its first A/H1N1 flu infection last May, the Health Ministry has tested 1.05 million samples, 8,384 of them positive.

  • Virus has pretty skills to kill significantly (not mild).
  • Fortunately for us, it appears to have dificulty to spread itself between large population (unlike in small groups: family, classroom, etc).
  • By no way it has reached predicted Atack Rate: 20-30%.
