The graph below plots the daily increase/decrease of deaths (delta value) on a specific day against the average number of deaths per day since May 5, 2009 in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1
lace w:st="on">Mexico</st1
lace></st1:country-region>. The ?0? line is the average number of reported deaths per day over the period from May 5 through June 2, 2009. When the red line is below 0, it means that fewer deaths were reported that day, when the red line is above 0 it means that more than the average number of deaths are being reported that day. The two spikes on May 6 and May 11 may be attributed to a backlog of confirmed samples. The spikes on May 27, 28, and June 2, indicate that more deaths than average are reported on those days. If we continue to see the delta value above 0, it will mean that there are increasing numbers of deaths in <st1
lace w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Mexico</st1:country-region></st1
lace> independent of the number of reported confirmed H1N1 cases.
