November 20, 2009, 21:27 Panama, Nov. 20 (PL) Vaccination against influenza virus A (H1N1) in Panama beginning in December, as part of measures to tackle the spread of the disease, official sources said.
The Health Minister Franklin Vergara, said that process is to receive a first batch of 150 thousand doses of the vaccine.
At that stage, he added, is prioritized for health personnel in charge of caring for the sick and facing the greatest risk of contracting the virus.
Subsequently, the benefits extend to children under age five, pregnant women and people with certain diseases that may be exacerbated by influenza A (H1N1).
For the first month of 2001 completed the 400 thousand doses used in the country that stage.
The authorities recorded 795 cases of the virus positive in the nation, with 11 fatalities
