Chief Commissioner Islamabad Hamid Ali Khan inaugurated a three-day anti polio drive in the rural areas of Islamabad here on Tuesday by administering anti polio drops to the children at Sihala Health Centre.
District Health Officer Islamabad Dr. Amir Zada Khan informed the chief commissioner in a detailed briefing that over 83,000 children would be immunised against the polio disease during the ongoing anti polio drive in the rural areas of Islamabad.
He further informed that a total of 216 teams have been constituted for running the drive successfully in the rural areas.
It merits mentioning here that rural areas have been divided into seven zones for this purpose. As many as 41 area in-charges have been deputed to cover the polio drive along with 29 fixed points and nine transit points.
The chief commissioner directed DHO Islamabad to ensure all necessary arrangements for making the campaign successful and all teams should reach each and every child in far-flung areas and ensure the coverage satisfactorily.:tiphat: http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=136356</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
