Friday's post-mortem reports on blogger Rehab Chougle and his younger brother, who died under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, have hinted at a suspected poisoning by aluminium phosphide, a highly poisonous chemical compound widely used as a fumigant for stored cereal grains and pest control.

Earlier, the Versova police had also registered an accidental death report (ADR) and the parents have told the police that they do not suspect any foul play. However, the doctors have failed to the give reasons as to why was the victims' viscera not sent for Chemical Analysis (CA), as done in most poisoning cases.
A senior forensic expert said that even if it was a clear case of poisoning due to pest control, a CA would have removed all doubts.
