An official source denies recording any death due to "bird flu" Sheikh Muhammad his wife

A source in the Mauritanian Ministry of Health said in a statement to Sahara Media that the news circulating about the death of a person due to bird flu in the capital, Nouakchott, is "an unfounded rumor."
The source added that the tests showed that the person concerned was free of the virus.
The source said: "We have already been informed of the death of a person working in a poultry farm, and we immediately took the necessary measures in this type of case. We took a sample from the deceased and subjected it to examination."
He confirmed that the examination results showed that the death was not related to the H5N1 bird flu virus.

Mauritanians circulated on social media this evening, news of the death of a person due to the "bird flu" virus, which sparked a widespread panic among the population.
The mentioned virus had caused the death of hundreds of birds in the Gawling Nature Reserve, southwest of the country, on the border with Senegal, to be closed by the Ministry of Environment.
The virus has been spreading for weeks in Senegal, where it caused the death of thousands of birds, but no cases of the virus were recorded among humans.
Mauritania had suspended the import of poultry and all its products from Senegal, in order to avoid cross-contagion, which is the same decision taken by Mali and Gambia.:tiphat:https://www.saharamedias.net/155210-مصدر-رسمي-ينفي-تسجيل-أي-وفاة-بسبب-انفل/
