Swine flu killed my boy in just 72 hours

HE was a fit and healthy teenager whose only problem was that he couldn't shake off a winter cold.

But just 72 hours after consulting a doctor, David Owen was dead - the 18th Scottish victim of swine flu in just one week.

Last night, the 18-year-old Dundee student's parents told of their utter devastation at his death.

His dad David snr, 55, said: "It's just unbelievable. We can't believe that David has gone. He had a cold that wouldn't go away - or that's all we thought it was."

The teenager's death on Sunday has led to increased calls for people to protect themselves by taking the f lu vaccine.

The family's nightmare began on Wednesday....
