Allergy Alert: Undeclared Milk in Azar Mountain Trail Mix

May 31, 2011 - The Azar Nut Company has issued an Allergy Alert on undeclared milk in Azar Mountain Trail Mix (Item#:9613896, 2/5#) with the following date codes: 10256, 10284, 10313, 10320, 10342, 10357, 11017, 11031, 11066, 11089, 11109, 11123, 11138, 11144 as the product may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product was distributed in Florida, Montana, Colorado, California, Oregon, Idaho, Arkansas, and Texas through various foodservice distributors. It was sold in 5# plastic bags under the Azar brand with the date codes listed above sold prior to May 26, 2011.

No other Azar Nut Company products are involved in this recall. No illnesses have been reported to date.

This alert was initiated after the Company?s own internal labeling review process identified that the Cocoa Buttons used in the mix contained Non-Fat Milk Powder and the label did not reveal the presence of milk...
