Chicken prices are rising... calls for urgent action to regulate the market

+- The consumer protection organization “ Himayatek ” called on the AGROLOG group to take proactive and urgent measures to ensure that the national market is supplied with sufficient quantities of white meat , in light of the rise in its prices during the recent period.
In a statement, the organization attributed some of the pressures facing the white meat market to factors that may affect the level of supply, including losses suffered by some poultry farms due to fires, in addition to high production costs and disruptions in supply operations.
“Your Protection” called for strengthening production and supply, ensuring the provision of feed and various poultry farming supplies, as well as creating a reserve stock that can be used in case of market disruptions.
The organization also called for measures to curb speculation and unjustified price increases, arguing that intervention should not be limited to the post-market surge stage, but should be proactive and preventative to avoid worsening the situation and protect consumer purchasing power.
“Your Protection” stressed that the stability of the white meat market requires coordination between the various stakeholders in the sector, in order to ensure the continuity of supply and maintain market balance, especially in light of the impact of production costs and conditions that may lead to a decline in supply.
