​Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed another case of measles in the Edmonton Zone and is alerting the public to a potential exposure at a movie theatre in south Edmonton.

According to AHS, the individual with the confirmed case was contagious while visiting Cineplex Odeon South Edmonton Cinemas on the night of April 26 between 8:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Anyone who was at the theatre during that time could have been exposed to the highly contagious virus.​..

Individuals who were in the Emergency Department waiting room at the Taber Health Centre May 2 between 7:58-11:58 p.m., was born in or after 1970 and has fewer than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, may be at risk for developing measles.​..

AHS warn of more areas possibly exposed with measles

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is warning the public about locations possibly exposed to measles after individuals suffering from the disease while still infectious entered them in early May.

This comes after the latest government report added 13 more cases in the province, bringing the total to 326. Of those cases, 23 are known to be communicable.

AHS said Saturday that those areas being warned about are in Taber, Whitecourt, and Grimshaw, which are in the AHS South and North zones.

The following areas in the North Zone are:

The Whitecourt Wild Rose Carnival on May 2 from 3:30-8 p.m.
The IGA on 4802 – 51 Street in Whitecourt on May 4 from 12-2:45 p.m.
The Grimshaw Chiropractic Care Centre at 5016 – 54 Avenue on May 6 from 9-11:45 a.m.

The following area in Taber in the South Zone is:

The No Frills at 150 Barton Drive on May 3 from 12-6 p.m...

Measles cases in Alberta rise with majority in province’s south

There are 39 more cases of measles in Alberta.

In the latest update Monday, the province says 30 of them are in the south zone, three in central Alberta and six in the north, though only 14 are believed to still be contagious.

It brings the provincial total to 365 since the beginning of March, with around two thirds of all the cases, 230, in the southern zone.

Of the total cases, 295 are in children under 18 and 70 are in adults. Only 14 of the cases are believed to be communicable.​...

Alberta adds 48 new measles cases including 46 in South Zone

Alberta health officials are continuing to warn communities in southern Alberta about the risk of measles after reporting another 48 new cases in the province over the weekend.

As of 12 p.m. Tuesday, the province reported 46 new cases in the South Zone, along with one in the North Zone and another in the Central Zone.

That raises the provincial total to 486 cases – including 344 in the South Zone, 92 in the Central Zone, 33 in the North Zone, 11 in Calgary and six in Edmonton.​

Of those 486 cases, 18 are active, or within the period of time a person can transmit the virus to another person, and 468 are past that period...

Alberta Health Services has issued another measles alert after people with confirmed cases of the highly contagious disease recently attended locations in southern Alberta while infected.

AHS said Thursday that people who were at the following seven locations during the specified dates and times might have been exposed to measles:

The province says 22 are still transmissible and all but two of the new cases are in southern Alberta, the area that has seen most of the province's cases.

​There has been much discussion about measles in Alberta. There have been a number of cases in the southern part of the province and up around Edmonton. It was only a matter of time that our region would have a case or two.

That is the case as Alberta Health Services has confirmed that a case of measles has been found in Hanna. In a release, they share that a person presented themselves to the Hanna Health Care Centre on May 24th and may have been infectious. The possible exposure was between 4:30 PM and 12:50 AM on May 25th.​..

...On Friday evening (May 30) Alberta Health Services (AHS) notified those who attended the Foothills Composite High School convocation and grad banquet that they were exposed to measles, as one or more individuals with a confirmed case were in attendance while infectious.

According to AHS, the potential exposure dates and locations are:

May 23: Foothills Composite High School Convocation at Viking Rentals Centre 204 Community Way, Okotoks, AB

May 24: Foothills Composite High School Graduation Banquet at BMO Centre 1912 Flores Ladue Parade SE, Calgary, AB

The Government of Alberta's website lists 679 cases of measles across the province, with 651 of them being past the period of communicability.

Of those, 13 are listed in the Calgary Zone, which include Okotoks.

As of Friday evening, the Okotoks exposures had not yet been listed on the AHS website, though screenshots of the email were shared on the CMcalgary Facebook page.​..

Amid the ongoing measles outbreak, a person confirmed to have the virus travelled to three locations in south Calgary while infectious last week, prompting a warning issued Friday by Alberta Health Services.

The individual was at the Cineplex in Seton on May 23 and 24 from approximately 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.; the Amenida Residences and Hotel on Macleod Trail on May 24 from 1 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the Ikea in Deerfoot Meadows on May 24 from approximately 12 to 5 p.m.​..
