A case of rinderpest is confirmed in the country

The National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority announced this Wednesday that an isolated case of Peste de petits ruminants has been confirmed in Albania.

As reported by the AKVMB, the case was identified in a goat breeding farm, with a total of 220 heads, in the village of Okshatinë, Shupenza Administrative Unit, Bulqiza Municipality.

Samples taken in the field by the Veterinary Service were analyzed at the reference laboratory of the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute, which confirmed the presence of the PPR virus.​..
