I have received an email from a person who works at busy airport processing passengers who are embarking on planes.
He/she says many people temporarily hold their passport and/or boarding pass in their mouths while trying to coordinate their carry-on luggage.
The employees at the airport are required to hold these documents to be able to process them.
Placing documents in your mouth is unsanitary.
