Seasonal Sickness Flu not widespread but very potent

COLDWATER ? There are no more cases of flu this year than in most years past, according to the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Counties Community Health Agency (CHA) medical director Dr. Loren Vogel. "It?s just those cases are more severe," said Vogel.

CHA staff indicated an 87-year-old Hillsdale county resident died from flu in Bryan, Ohio and is not listed in state statistics.

Kalamazoo county has reported three flu-related deaths. Kent county has reported two. All of these victims were over the age of 50.
