A/H1N1 flu cases reported in many Russian regions

21.01.2011, 14.25

MOSCOW, January 21 (Itar-Tass) - The seasonal rise of the rate of the so-called swine influenza A/H1N1 is expected to be at the average intensity level, but its duration may be rather long. This forecast was made by Russian chief sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko on Friday at a press conference in the Rospotrebnadzor office.

"Given the situation in the last epidemic season when there was intensive A/H1N1 spread (mainly mild cases) and 30 million people were vaccinated, it gives reason to say that the epidemic season will be of medium intensity and extended in time," he said.

The number of A/H1N1-type influenza cases has increased in several Russian regions....more at the link.
