Hope this is the right subsection for this -- but I'm including it here because most of the topics discussed in these presentations apply to pandemics in general.
I've found a couple of excellent seminars/presentations available (for free) download on iTunes. (You can play them in iTunes or on your iPod if your iPod will do video.) The first presentation is from Washingtion U from 2006 (you can find it by searching the iTunes store for "threat of pandemic influenza can we stop the spread" -- it's a free video download). The second speaker is the most interesting, IMO, as he presents the various computer modeling used to predict pandemic spread profiles both with and without large-scale prophylactic antiviral interventions. His point seemed to be that it would take a LOT of prophylactic antivirals to put a big enough dent in the spread of a pandemic influenza virus to allow for vaccine production, but that antiviral interventions could work to buy time -- so long as the virus had not developed a resistance.
The second seminar/presentation is called "Avian Flu: Ethical, Financial and Management Implications for Business (part 3)". You can find it by searching for some of the words in the title. The first speaker (head of NYC's health department) is quite interesting. He's being pretty candid, and most of the language and recommendation that he explains that he will use in a pandemic is currently being used in NYC.
