A case of leptospirosis diagnosed in Vilnius, Lithuania

As of 16 March 2012, the Lithuanian Centre for Communicable Diseases and AIDS reported a case of laboratory confirmed leptospirosis in Vilnius.
A person asked for medical assistance in the beginning of March 2012 with fever, headache and cough. This person could have been infected during a visit to the homestead. Previously there were 5 cases of leptospirosis in 2010 and 3 in 2011 reported in Lithuania.
