An incident occured in waste treatment plant near Padua yesterday, according daily newspaper 'il mattino di Padova'. Emergency department of firefighters and regional environmental agency (ARPAV) went on the scene and reported that in the air of the town's outskirt city of Saonara there was presence of various chemicals such as dioxins, cyanide but no communication to general population was established.

For my direct experience, yesterday around 6 p.m (GMT+1) - when I was out for shopping in Padua downtown, no advices were dispatched by authorities.
A children's recreational event was ongoing near the incident scene (a couple of Kms of distance) and none dispatched officer to inform parents to protect themselves and chlildren.

This is a prototypical situation when lack of coordination between autorities may lead to harms of public health and communities.

Wow! That's a big cloud of toxins. How long did it take them to get it under control?

One can only hope that the mass plastic waste depot will be covered in some way by firefighters. Worringly, Padua population was kept in the dark until today, apart the facility's neighbors.
