</TD></TR><TR><TD height=10></TD></TR><TR><TD class=articleBody>A Davis County resident brings Utah's confirmed total of human patients with the sometimes deadly West Nile virus to seven, public health officials announced Thursday.
The unidentified individual is recovering from the mosquito-borne disease.
Utah County has reported five people who have tested positive for the disease while Tooele County also has a human case.
Box Elder, Davis, Duchesne, Emery, Grand, Juab, Millard, Salt Lake, Tooele, Uintah, Utah, Washington, and Weber counties have reported the presence of the virus.
Last summer, the state's worst West Nile season since the virus' 2002 arrival, saw 52 reported human infections and one death from the illness.
Health officials ask people to take care while being outside from dusk to dawn. Wear long sleeves and pants as well as a mosquito repellent with DEET.
Be sure to eliminate standing water, which serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes, from outside the home.
More information about West Nile virus is available on the Web at health.utah.gov.
