@joerogan
Peter, if you claim what RFKjr is saying is “misinformation” I am offering you $100,000.00 to the charity of your choice if you’re willing to debate him on my show with no time limit.

Spotify Has Stopped Even Sort of Trying to Stem Joe Rogan’s Vaccine Misinformation. It’s really true ⁦@annamerlan⁩ just awful. And from all the online attacks I’m receiving after this absurd podcast, it’s clear many actually believe this nonsense https://vice.com/en/article/k7zz9z/spotify-rogan-rfk-vaccine-misinformation-policy…

Joe if you are serious about addressing vaccines + the fact that 200,000 unvaccinated Americans needlessly perished during our awful delta/BA.1 Covid waves (including 40,000 in our state of Texas) because they fell victims to vaccine disinformation: I want to have that discussion twitter.com/joerogan/statu…

I will add $100,000 making it $600K! Debate him. Sadly, Hotez, nor any other "expert" will not debate any "misinformation superspreader." They are all afraid of things like facts and data.

Seriously Elon? This is monstrous. 200,000 Americans needlessly perished (including 40,000 Texans, our neighbors) because they were victims of antivaccine disinformation during our awful Covid delta/BA.1 waves in 2021-22. Please don’t do this…

isn't afraid at all! He just doesn't have time to waste getting into childish discussions on a subject that has been more than proved for many decades. He is too busy doing what he does better: SAVING MILLIONS OF LIVES with his patent free vaccine, Corbevax.

Yes Joe I thought it was over the top, unnecessarily provocative, so I took it down right away. But I’ve been hurt by the public/untrue statements you/guests have made about me being a pharma shill, when all I do is make vaccines for the world’s poor. I don’t take BigPharma money

I would love to see a debate. Most everyone I know is not getting the vaccines anymore. The anti-vaccine rhetoric has been very effective. Maybe a panel debate would be more informational. Maybe 2 or 3 on each side? That way there could be experts on nutrition as well as vaccines since the anti-vaccine groups usually promote natural methods. A vaccine expert may not know anything relevant about traditional therapies.

I am not sure a debate is going to be able to add any clarity, I suspect it will just end up like debates between Christian fundamentalist creationists and evolutionary biologists where all observers end up exactly where they started.

Agree but I would like to hear it anyway. It seems that the both sides blame the other for the various illnesses that are circulating - i.e. new cancer diagnosis, strokes, heart attacks, sudden deaths in young adults, etc. The vaccine people say that repeated COVID-19 infections are to blame. The anti-vax groups blame the vaccines.

I look at the basic stats - The highest number of deaths in the US were in 2020. Before vaccines.

The excess deaths levels increased above previous 5 year averages in 2021, 2022 - when vaccines were available - but also when most people had suffered through several COVID-19 infections.

I would like a panel of experts on both sides to present their arguments and evidence in a debate setting so that we can all learn something. Elon Musk can be the moderator. He generally supports vaccines and mRNA technology but is not too keen on the COVID-19 shots.

Why do we have Presidential debates with a moderator but not for a pandemic virus that has killed at least 1 million people in the US and maimed many more - in addition to some vaccine damaged people?

I suggest two panels with the following experts: vaccine, traditional therapy, over-the-counter drugs, non-pharm interventions (masks, etc.), pandemic response. I nominate Dr. Osterholm for the pandemic response expert on the pro-vaccine panel. RFK, Jr. could be on the anti-vax panel - maybe give the introduction? Maybe Dr. McCullough for the vaccine expert on the anti-vax panel?

Why not? We have some of the world's smartest people on these topics and money can be raised for charity at the same time.

After 3 years - with some scientific evidences now available - it is time.

I will stick with the research and statistical data and draw my own conclusions. I do not know what Osterholm has said on the subject, I have dipped into the other two and do not think listening to either of them would be other than a waste of time. McCullough is a cardiologist who has waded into a field outside his expertise and RFK Jr. is miles away from having any relevant expertise.

I mentioned Osterholm for the pandemic preparedness section for which he is an expert. I think vaccines should be only one part of the panel debate. There are other issues like lockdowns, mandates, etc. Why can't all of the pandemic issues be now debated by experts in those fields? I would think that the professional pro-vaxx people would love a chance to refute the leaders of the anti-vax rhetoric. This would be that opportunity. I don't see why not. If the pro-vaxx peeps have all their facts and data organized it should be a quick take down of the anti-vaxx group...yes? I mean...really....why not do it....?

People are arguing all over twitter about this. It seems no experts on opposing sides are going to take up the challenge. While a "debate" may not be the perfect format - something has to be done.

What we have now is each side listing their points to sympathetic audiences and hosts and, well, I want some answers. RFK, Jr. brings up some points. Whether he has any science background, or not, is irrelevant. He has influence. So let him participate. Again - if the established science crowd is so confident in their arguments then it should be easy for them to "win".

As a consumer of COVID-19 vaccines I want to know what the pro-vax experts say to refute the anti-vax experts in an open and fairly moderated forum.

What is everyone afraid of?

It is a travesty if the vaccines are really dangerous and were represented as generally safe, and it is a travesty if millions of people are declining life saving and disability preventing vaccines if they are safe and effective for most people.

It is an outrage that something can not be done to solve this schism. I have a relative who has not taken a booster since January 2022. They are not vaccine protected and are in several high risk groups for COVID-19. They were influenced by the anti-vax positions. They are going in to a large hospital for a minor - several hours long - procedure this week where they can not wear an N95.

So thanks all you experts, on both sides, for taking the hard questions. Not.

This is another perspective on excess deaths beyond infections and vaccines.

The Mystery of Unaccounted Excess Deaths in the US

Dr. Eyal Shahar is a professor emeritus of public health in epidemiology and biostatistics. His research focuses on epidemiology and methodology. In recent years, Dr. Shahar has also made significant contributions to research methodology, especially in the domain of causal diagrams and biases.

"The CDC and other officials will call these deaths “indirect pandemic deaths.” They are not. Most of these deaths would not have happened if the Covid pandemic were handled like a previous flu pandemic – without fear-mongering, without lockdown, without symbolic masks, and without disruption of normal life. One journalist attributed them to “circumstances of the crisis.” Who created these circumstances?

The mystery of unaccounted excess deaths in the US is solved, at least in part. Many of them are accounted for by poorly justified interventions and relentless impositions on normal human activity. At least 115,000 deaths belong in that category and the true number might be twice as high."
