CAIRO - Editor Masrawy - A national network of stations to monitor earthquakes of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, and in all governorates of the republic earthquake measuring 6 .5 on the Richter scale which occurred at the fifth and six minutes on Friday evening.

وصرح الدكتور صلاح محمد محمود رئيس المعهد القومى للبحوث الفلكية والجيوفيزيقية ان مركز هذه الهزة يبعد 500 كيلو متر فى اتجاه شمال شرق السلوم " شرق جزيرة كريت فى البحر المتوسط".
Dr Salah Mohamed Mahmoud, head of the National Institute of Astrophysics and Geophysics Research Center said the quake is 500 km north-east in the direction of SALLUM "east of the island of Crete in the Mediterranean." وأضاف أن الهزة كانت محسوسة بالنسبة لمعظم سكان الدلتا والساحل الشمالي من مطروح الى العريش ، مشيرا الى أن هذه المنطقة هى إحدى الأحزمة الزلزالية المتميزة بنشاطها الزلزالي المتكرر.
He added that the quake was felt for most of the population of the Delta and the northern coast of El Arish to the table, noting that the region is a distinct seismic belts frequent seismic activity. وأوضح أن المعهد لم يتلق ما يفيد بحدوث أى خسائر فى الأرواح أو المبانى بسبب حدوث هذه الهزة ، مشيرا الى أن علماء المعهد يتابعون رصد أجهزة المحطة لأى توابع لهذه الهزة أو وقوع هزات أرضية أخرى .
He explained that the Institute did not receive the benefit of any loss of life or buildings because of the quake, adding that the scientists attending the Institute to monitor the aftershocks of the organs of the plant for any of this earthquake or other occurrence of earthquakes. المصدر: وكالة انباء الشرق الاوسط ، مصراوى
