Since the emergence of pandemic viruses (H1N1) 2009 in April last year in the department of Sucre 32 confirmed cases were filed, of which one patient died.
According to the Surveillance System for Public Health (SIVIGILA) of Dasssalud, since the second week of December saw a decline in the reporting of acute respiratory diseases, based on the low rainfall and long sunny periods.
Although in 2009 were reported 1102 only 32 were confirmed, 27 of which originated in this city, four in Corozal and one in Covenas.
As for the actions taken by Dasssalud Public Health, 82.3% of the reported cases were hospitalized and the rest were managed on an outpatient basis in their homes, according Dasssalud director, Martha Garcia.
