SHILOH, IL (KMOX) -- At least 20 patients staying at the Fountains of Shiloh assisted living center at 1201 Hartman Lane were taken to area hospitals after becoming ill this morning.

This was the latest of several viral outbreaks the facility has been dealing this week.

Good Neighbor Care, an Oregon based company who owns the Fountains of Shiloh, says their facility is one of four area facilities experiencing the outbreak.

SHILOH, IL (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - Twenty-two residents of an Illinois care facility were transported to area hospitals Friday following a flu-like symptom outbreak. Health officials at The Fountain III Independent and Assisted Living Center say several residents were taken from the home Thursday evening with flu-like symptoms and then again on Friday morning. Official expect the residents to return later this afternoon. The Fountains III is located in Shiloh, Illinois at Hartman Lane and Frank Scott Parkway. The nursing home currently has 65 residents.

31 residents of Shiloh assisted-living center fall ill

SHILOH -- Officials said that 31 residents of the Fountains III assisted living center in Shiloh have been taken to hospitals after experiencing nausea and vomiting.

Barb Hohlt, the director of health protection for the St. Clair County Health Department, said seven people were taken to the hospital Thursday night and another 24 were taken in this morning.

John Betten, public safety director for adjoining O'Fallon, Ill., told reporters on the scene that residents began experiencing symptoms Thursday night.

33 nursing home residents taken to hospitals; suffered nausea, vomiting

SHILOH -- A fast-acting, contagious virus ripped through the Fountains III Independent and Assisted Living Center in Shiloh late Thursday and early Friday, sending 33 of the residents to hospitals in ambulances.

"The health department and hospitals told us it wasn't H1N1 but a norovirus," said Kevin Carlin, spokesman for Good Neighbor Care, the managing company for the assisted living center at 1201 Hartman Lane.

SHILOH, Ill. (KMOX) -- An Illinois Department of Health laboratory confirms it was indeed a "Norovirus" that sickened 35 residents of a Metro-East assisted living facility, this week.

The Fountains in Shiloh has also had several staff members become ill.
