The result was obtained by the group of the State University of Milan and by the Sacco Hospital, coordinated by Gianguglielmo Zehender, Claudia Balotta and Massimo Galli, the same who had isolated the 3 virus strains in the Codogno area -
March 04 2020 The first "genetic map" of the coronavirus circulating in Italy has been traced, on the basis of the first 3 complete genomes, obtained from the Italian Sars-CoV-2 isolates circulating in Lombardy and sequenced at the Sacco hospital on 27 February. From the work carried out by the group of State University of Milan and Sacco Hospital, a first possible identikit of the viral strain that is alarming the country emerges: in the meantime, it is a single cluster of genomes isolated in other European countries (in particular in Germany and Finland ) and in countries of Central and South America, as well as the Italian block recently published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanit? and obtained in the area of Lodigiano. -
