The vaccination campaign against the H1N1 virus "goes well, the expected rate," and also "well accepted" by the persons included in the immunization because of their greater risk of complications if they acquire influenza pandemic, said Dr. Otto Granma Pel?ez S?nchez, head of the Department of Communicable Diseases, Ministry of Public Health.
In this first stage of the campaign, which runs from the last day 1 and until 20 this month, until yesterday had been vaccinated 289 794 persons, representing 25.8% of the universe to immunize more than one million doses donated by WHO / PAHO to our country. Of that total, 64 412 were pregnant women and new mothers (83%), including the most vulnerable in this new virus.

Reported adverse reactions, described as "mild" are headache (headaches), the most common, followed by fever up to 38 degrees Celsius, decay, allergic reactions, pain at the site of injection, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and joint pain.

The expert stressed that taking into account the increase of respiratory diseases associated with the pandemic virus that have taken place in the last three weeks, it is essential that people consult a physician before the onset of any flu-like box and at the same time, extreme measures hygiene, especially washing hands systematic.
