The above translation appears to have raised the total number of confirmed summer of 2007 cases to 330 assuming "Free State" includes Saxony, Thuringia, and Bavaria.

In 2006, Germany's 342 confirmed H5N1 wild bird cases was the highest in Europe.

The above story suggests that the 330 confirmed dead birds were all at Kelbra Lake, which would mean that the summer tally in Germany has set a record. In 2006 Germany had 343 confirmed cases, while this year in addition to the cases at the Lake there have been more confirmed wild birds in Nuremburg and Munich in Bavaria, multiple additional locations in Thuiringia, and multiple additional locations in Saxony.
