San Juan del Rio, December 9, 1910 .- It is expected for this winter season increased to 25% in diseases and respiratory infections, said Alejandro Valdez Garza, Medical Subdelegate ISSSTE.

He explained that although it is common ailments such increase due to the natural low temperatures, this year climate change has been more noticeable and thus atypical health problems will be greater than in previous years.

With regard to the H1N1 influenza virus, commonly known as swine flu and sent shock waves around the world in 2009, said the alert has declined, so that should not pose risks to the public and pointed out that the ISSSTE is the sufficient mechanisms to combat cases that arise.

For symptoms of infection by this virus, they were given oseltamivir, which is a selective drug that acts against the influenza strain that inhibits the spread of the virus through infected cells. This medicine is produced by Hoffman-La Roche group (Tamiflu) and Procaps (Tazamir).

Garza Valdez reported that so far this winter season there have been two documented cases in the state for virus infection (H1N1). The first, a minor, requiring no more than the administration of oseltamivir and the second, a senior, who was hospitalized for 24 hours and who suffered from diabetes mellitus, facilitating infection.

In any case, it is recommended that measures be maintained to avoid infection of any strain of influenza, which include washing hands, out into the street warm and cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
