20 migratory birds found dead in Himachal Pradesh
Shimla, Jan 23: Twenty migratory birds were found dead near Himachal Pradesh's internationally recognised Pong Dam wetlands Friday but the authorities ruled out any symptom of bird flu in them.

"This morning, our staff noticed 20 dead migratory birds in a forest area near Pong Dam reservoir in Kangra district," Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) S.K. Guleria told IANS.
"This is first such type of incident in the state since the onset of migratory season of birds," Guleria said.
Range officer (Pong wetlands) D.S. Dadwal said the dead birds comprised 18 barheaded geese and two ruddy shell ducks.
State Forest Minister J.P. Nadda said the carcasses of the birds would be sent to the Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Jalandhar in Punjab to know the cause of the deaths.
However, he ruled out any symptoms of bird flu in them.
