"BEIJING — More than 2 million people have been displaced or otherwise affected by flooding in China's eastern province of Zhejiang, the official Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday."

The article also reports: "42,254 acres of farmland inundated". That many acres may not seem like much when compaired with the total number of acers tilled in China or the world. However with the flooding here in the US and the fact that some farmers here were unable to put in a crop due to flooding and rain, a lot of ground is lying fallow and it is starting to add up. I am becoming more and more consernded about the world's food supply and the rising prices of food and fuel here in the US. While fuel costs have dipped slightly here food prices continue to rise. People I know are making trade offs. On some tables meat is becoming a rare occurance and when it dose appear there is less of it.
