BLOOMINGTON ? Two McLean County residents with influenza have died ? a grim reminder that the flu is widespread this year and can be fatal.
A 35-year-old McLean County man died Thursday night in Peoria, with his cause of death attributed to pneumonia after he was diagnosed with H1N1 influenza, Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said Friday.
In addition, a McLean County man in his late 40s died of flu-related causes in late December but his case wasn?t closed until this week, said Kera Brossette of the county health department. The strain of flu that he had is unknown, she said Friday.
Brossette is not aware of the men having underlying medical conditions.
