New Haven (WTNH) - A New Haven County resident is the first person to die from the swine flu (H1N1) in the state.

The person has not been identifed, but we do know they were over the age of 50 and had underlying health problems that put them at a higher risk for flu complications.

Nearly 400 people in the state have been diagnosed with swine flu.

Just today, four students at Tyrrell Middle School in Wolcott were confirmed with having the swine flu as well as a student at a New Haven school. Tyrrell Middle School will be closed Thursday and Friday for a thorough cleaning.
