A high school student has become Niagara County's second confirmed fatality connected to the swine flu. County health officials said Wednesday that the 10th-grader at Niagara Wheatfield Senior High School died Monday night. Spokeswoman Elaine Roman says the boy did not have an underlying medical condition.
Authorities declined to release his name or other information.
Last week, an adult male died elsewhere in the upstate New York county.
The state Health Department recorded 16 swine flu-related deaths upstate between Sept. 1 and Nov. 7. That number does not include Monday's death.
