State H1N1 flu toll touches 32

BANGALORE: Two more persons succumbed to the deadly H1N1 flu on Wednesday, taking the toll in the state to 31. Though yet another death with flu
symptoms occurred, the lab report for confirmation on H1N1 is yet to be released.

R Ranjit, 16, from Malathahalli was admitted to Sagar Hospital with fever and breathlessness on August 15, and died on Wednesday.

According to Dr Lohith Nadig, medical administrator, Sagar Hospitals, he had completed a five-day course of Tamiflu and was doing well but suddenly developed pneumo thorax and also infection in the heart. His condition worsened and he died.
Shahida Misgar, 36, also died of flu. She was admitted to a private hospital in Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district on August 31 with fever and respiratory problems. Her throat swab tested positive, said district health authorities.
